Come and play with the cool kids in buckets A bit more progress made on the Cliff clobberer....

wish for falling through the air to give me some release

Thanks. It's rubber mounted in the same manner as on the FXR chassis using the original oil cooler rubber mounts. You reckon that's gonna be a problem? I can understand if it were bolted directly to the chassis....

Got a few more things to do but will see how it goes as it is....

Better be better than my FXR frame was! Would be a pain putting it all back into the FXR frame again!!

Ok so the new TZR/FXR had a good shake down over the weekend with the BOB and KOR2. 10th in BOB with an old fat fulla on it can't be too bad

The bike ran well enough and behaved itself however after two days racing it doesn't give me the same confidence as I had with my FXR with modified forks and YSS shock. It didn't do anything wrong, just feels different - slower steering, less sharp & taller.

Thanks to Buddha, Brendan and Mr Ling for their suggested improvements which I'll do and see what difference that makes. Cheers guys.

Ok, so the new TZR/FXR thing wasn't to my liking but the idea seems good. Stick a decent engine in a light good handling frame and it has to be a good thing right?

    So I found this
    IMG_7641w.jpg

& no I'm not cannibalising my RS125 its too much fun)

So what to go in there?

    IMG_7639w.jpg
Engine hangers would need to get the chop

    IMG_7640w.jpg
Plenty of width between the spars

But the FXR is a pretty large porky and heavy engine albeit a good reliable workhorse. The CBR engines sitting on the bench in Waldo's emporium are significantly more compact. Must weigh one. Alternatives? AM6/Derbi with big bore kit and the eligibility bitching? What else? Preferably something that doesn't mean chopping into the frame.
