    Noob's FXR project

    Nothing flash, a basically std FXR with;
    GN250 Carb
    Pod Filter
    Race CDI
    125 GP slicks
    Exhaust header weld opened up and rear baffle removed.
    I've just followed the tips from the http://www.FXR150.co.nz 2007 MotoFXR project thread. Thanx Bren

    Boating eh? World famous in Greymouth I hear.

    Done a bit of fiddling on the new toy. Rear chassis chopped and attacking the wiring - I hate mucking about with the electrickery stuff. I have a poor understanding of all that but seem to have got it mostly sorted.

    Tempted to repaint it red again, but for simplicity I think it will stay green. Cheers.

    Nice gurls XR in the background Might be the bike to have this weekend if the weather doesnt play ball!
    sometimes I wish for falling
    wish for the release
    wish for falling through the air to give me some release
    falling not the problem
    when I'm falling I'm at peace
    its only when i hit the ground it causes all the grief!

    Hmmm, got the daughter married off so I've been able to crib an hour of two in the shed.

    Knock off 30mm flatslide fitted, starter motor lost and a catch bottle. Well it's a start....

    I have a hacked about RS fairing I picked up on my travels...

    Don't really like the look of that. Think I'll stick with the FXR look for the moment.
    Found a can of paint that nearly matches. Seth's tail came up ok'ish if you don't look too close...

    To do;
    IMG_3060.jpg
    Make a header pipe
    IMG_3057.jpg
    Sort axles, spacers, brakes and sprocket carrier, clip-ons and then we're good to go....I think

    Anybody loan me the tools I need to get the generator rotor off to remove the starter ring gear which seems to be rattling like a bucket of bolts without the starter motor fitted - the last engine didn't do that

    Cheers.

    What size jets did you use on your carb?

    On my previous bike when it was at a similar spec it ran a 118 main. That's what I'll start with on this one but it won't necessarily be right, it's just a starting point based on past experience of these mods on my previous FXR. Cheers.
